We pay the highest taxes in the state, but our police are underpaid and understaffed. We have the second worst murder rate in the country. The men and women of the police force are running ragged answering 911 calls. Our schools have the worst high school dropout rate in the state. Our fire department is understaffed. Our streets are falling apart.
Don Dewar says, "Enough is Enough"
Don Dewar is not a career politician. Don Dewar is a successful businessman who was raised in the public housing projects in O'Donnell Heights. He joined the service, then the police department, and worked hard to get an education.
Don Dewar knows our communities because he grew up here. As a businessman, Don was one of the first to recognize the potential of Canton Square. He rehabbed three buildings on the O'Donnell Street before it became fashionable to do so.
Like all of us, Don Dewar is fed up with the continuing decline of our beautiful city. Our property tax rate is twice as high as Baltimore County's. What do we get for our money?
In the coming weeks, Don Dewar will be telling you his ideas on how to make Baltimore best again.
This September 11, vote for Don Dewar for First District City Council for a change. |
